Traffic

Girl, we're getting out of luck
Traffic's slow and there's a jam
But I'll come to pick you up
Just keep waiting where you stand

Baby, ooh I don't mind the distance
I just want your whispers
Ringing in my ears
Darling, ooh the road is badly cared for
But I can see the airport
We must be getting near
And if it's not how you thought this would be
Hold on

Time is here and now and never
Always forever in your face
Through the rain and stormy weather
It might deliver us to grace

Baby, ooh motorways and tramlines
Lead us to the shoreline
We must be getting near
Darling, ooh the archetype of let-down
The most deserted ghost town
We must be getting near
Words & music by Marijn Ophorst

Marijn Ophorst: vocals, acoustic guitar

One of a new batch of songs, this is a very lousy demo recorded in early 2005 with just Marijn, an acoustic guitar and a memocorder - one take only, so don't mind the mistakes. The other songs recorded in the same session are Vampire, Nicotine, Don't Sing Your Song In Spite, Baby Doll and I'll Let You Know.

This song is being considered for single release this spring along with Vampire.
